Akhmetov again tops Ukraine's richest people rating in 2017

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has dropped out of the Top 10 and ranked 11th with a $542 million fortune.

Ukrainian tycoon Rinat Akhmetov, the owner of SCM financial and industrial group, again topped the rating of the 100 richest people in Ukraine in 2017 with a fortune of US$3.1 billion.

Billionaire Kostyantyn Zhevago, the owner of Ukrainian mining company Ferrexpo, climbed to the fifth position.

Yuriy Kosyuk, CEO of Ukraine's major poultry producer PJSC Myronivsky Hliboproduct, remained sixth with $900 million.

Owner of Kernel Group Andriy Verevskiy whose fortune was estimated at $785 million slid from the fifth place to the seventh.

Smart Holding owner Vadym Novinsky rose to the eighth position with $734 million.

Owner of the DCH Group Oleksandr Yaroslavsky slid to the ninth position with $645 million, while Dmytro Firtash, the owner of Group DF, ranked 10th with $640 million.

As was reported, Ukrainian oligarch Akhmetov climbed from 439th to 393rd place in the Bloomberg list of the world's 500 richest people.

According to Bloomberg, Ukraine can live for 36 days on Akhmetov's money.
