Ukraine sees exports grow almost 54% in Jan-Feb 2018

The European Union accounts for 45.1% of Ukraine's exports of goods.

Ukraine in January-February 2018 increased export of various industrial goods by 53.9%, wood and pulp – by 49.6%, and chemical products – by 35.3%.

In addition, shipments of goods abroad rose significantly in metallurgy (by 28.2%), machine engineering (by 27.9%), light industry (by 24.5%), mineral products (by 15%), while exports of agricultural and food products over the period under review grew by 3.4%, the Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry's press service said.

The share of agriculture and the food industry was the largest in goods exports, namely 37.6%, while metallurgical products accounted for 26.8%, machine engineering – for 11.4%, mineral products – for 9%, chemical industry products – for 5.1%, wood and pulp – for 4.2%, and light industry products – for 2.7%.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in January-February 2018, export of Ukrainian goods grew by 17.9% year-over-year, to US$7.4 billion.

Ukraine's export of goods to the EU countries over the period under review soared by 36.2%, to EUR 3.3 billion. Sales of Ukrainian products to Singapore, Belarus, Turkey, Moldova and Iraq increased as well.
