Assets of operating banks down by UAH 40 bln since year-start – Ukraine's central bank

According to the NBU, in March, the banks' assets increased by UAH 2.673 billion.

Assets of banks operating in Ukraine, excluding insolvent financial institutions, in March 2018 increased by UAH 2.673 billion, or by 0.2%, to UAH 1.296 trillion.

As reported on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine, since the beginning of the year - over the first quarter - the assets of operating banks decreased by UAH 40.544 billion, or 3%.

Liabilities of banks increased by 0.1% in March, but decreased by 3.1% from year-start - to UAH 1.136 trillion.

It is also reported that as of the beginning of April, there were 82 banks operating in Ukraine, the same number as in the previous month and at the beginning of this year.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in 2017, the assets of banks operating in Ukraine, excluding insolvent financial institutions, increased by UAH 80 billion, or 6.4%, to UAH 1.336 trillion.
