The country's deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review grew by 1.3% y-o-y.
The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in January-March 2018 (Q1) was estimated at US$1.691 billion, which was 25.4% up from a deficit year-over-year (y-o-y).
The deficit of foreign trade in commodities in Q1 2018 grew by 1.3% y-o-y, to $1.936 billion, while the surplus of foreign trade in services increased by 2.3 times, to $245 billion, according to the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

However, the National Bank of Ukraine said that Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services showed a deficit of $6.848 billion in 2017, which was 25.2% up from the deficit reported in 2016.
