Ukraine triples daily imports of natural gas from Slovakia

Ukraine tripled imports of natural gas from Slovakia on May 1 from April 30, to 30.85 million cubic meters per day.

An application for gas imports from Slovakia for April 30 was 10 million cubic meters and that for May 1 and also for May 2 was set at 30.85 million cubic meters each, Slovakia's Eustream has said.

As UNIAN reported, Ukraine reduced gas imports by 56.9%, to 1.8 billion cubic meters in the first quarter of 2018 compared to the same period last year. The largest volumes of gas (1.3 billion cubic meters) were imported through the Slovak gas transport corridor.

The average price of imported natural gas paid by Ukraine in March 2018 was UAH 7,154, or US$275, per 1,000 cubic meters.

The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine calculated the average customs value of imported natural gas that was formed during customs clearance from March 1 to March 31, 2018. "It was UAH 7,154, or $275, per 1,000 cubic meters," Ukraine's Economic Development and Trade Ministry said on its website with reference to the fiscal service.

The average customs value of imported natural gas for Ukraine in February 2018 was estimated at $277 per 1,000 cubic meters. It was $272.9 per 1,000 cubic meters in January 2018.
