Ukraine sees 12% decline in sugar exports in April

The geography of the exports did not change.

Ukraine saw a 12% decline in sugar exports in April 2018 from March 2018, to 41,800 tonnes.

"Although the rate of shipments in April decreased slightly – by almost 12% from March, the geography of the exports did not change," the press service of the Ukrtsukor sugar producers' association has said.

Uzbekistan accounted for most of the shipments, its share was 55%.

Great Britain accounted for 12% of total shipments of Ukrainian sugar abroad in April. The share of Azerbaijan was 6%, while that of Moldova, Libya and Turkey was about 15%.

Sugar exports from the beginning of the current marketing year, which started in September 2017, to April 2018 inclusive, totaled 379,900 tonnes.

As UNIAN reported, Ukrainian sugar factories ended the sugar production season in February. Since its beginning on August 30, 2017, they produced 2.14 million tonnes of sugar, which was 6.5% up on the previous season.
