Sales of electric cars in Ukraine in January-April 2018 grew by 1.5 times year-over-year (y-o-y), to 1,044 units.
The rise was due to imports of used cars accounting for 85% of the total sales in Ukraine, according to the Ukrautoprom Association's press service

The Nissan Leaf model was the most popular electric car in Ukraine over the period under review. Its share was 69% on the country's primary electric car market. Some 723 vehicles of this model, including 52 new cars, were sold in Ukraine in January-April, it said.
The BMW i3 model ranked second in terms of sales, as some 58 car drivers preferred this make; 19 cars were new.
The Tesla Model S car was third: 52 Tesla cars, including 18 new vehicles, were sold over the period under review.
The Mercedes-Benz B model with 36 sold cars (eight new and 28 used vehicles) and the Smart Fortwo Electric Drive model with 32 cars (all with mileage) were also among the top five makes.
As UNIAN reported earlier, sales of electric cars in Ukraine in 2017 rose by 2.3 times against 2016, to 2,697 units.
The Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine intends to increase the share of electric car sales on the domestic car market to 15% before 2020 as part of a program to stimulate the development of the country's electric car market.
