Ukraine obtains right to export beef to Turkey

The harmonization of the veterinary certificate for Ukrainian beef exports to Turkey is at its final stage.

The State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service of Ukraine says the country has obtained the right to export beef to the Turkish market.

The right was granted following the work in Ukraine of the technical mission of the General Directorate of Protection and Control at the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkey in late April 2018.

"Turkish inspectors audited the state control system for beef production in Ukraine, as well as inspected slaughter enterprises that are interested in exporting their products to Turkey," the service said in a statement.

It is also reported the harmonization of the veterinary certificate for Ukrainian beef exports to Turkey is at its final stage.

As UNIAN reported earlier, according to the service, 61 Ukrainian enterprises were granted the right to export foodstuffs of animal origin in 2017. As a result, the list of exporters has expanded to 728 agricultural producers.
