Deficit of foreign trade balance in Ukraine in Q1 estimated at US$134.9 mln

The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade balance in January-March 2018 amounted to US$134.9 million against a surplus of US$126.1 million for the same period last year.

Imports of goods and services to Ukraine in the first quarter, excluding services for processing of customer-supplied raw materials, amounted to US$13.736 billion and increased by 11.3% year-over-year, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine said on its website.

Exports of goods and services from Ukraine amounted to US$13.601 billion, which was 9.1% up year-over-year.

The report excludes data from temporarily occupied areas of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as part of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

As UNIAN reported, Ukraine's foreign trade balance in 2017 was negative and the country's trade deficit was estimated at US$2.625 billion against US$541.6 million in surplus in 2016.
