Vodka, brandy production in Ukraine declines in four months

Production of vodka of an alcoholic strength by volume of ≤ 45.4% in Ukraine in January-April 2018 fell by 20.2% year-over-year, to 3.7 million decaliters and brandy output dropped by 9.6%, to 591,000 decaliters.

Vodka production in April 2018 alone was 1 million decaliters, which was 4.4% up on March 2018 and 50.1% up on April 2017, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine said.

Brandy production in April 2018 was 591,000 decaliters, which was 10.7% down on March 2018 and 2.7% down on April 2017, it said.

Production of liqueurs and other alcoholic beverages in Ukraine in January-April 2018 increased by 17.3% compared to the same period last year to 2.1 million decaliters. In April 2018 alone, production of liqueurs and other spirits amounted to 558,000 decaliters, which is 14.6% more than last month and 3.6% down on April 2017.

As UNIAN reported, vodka production in Ukraine in 2017 decreased by 17.6%, that of brandy by 13%, while production of liquors and other alcoholic beverages in Ukraine in 2017 increased by 18.3%.
