Groysman says this project is a new hybrid weapon, targeting the European Union.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has called on to prevent the implementation of Russia's Nord Stream 2 project.

"This project is a new hybrid weapon, targeting the European Union. We should stop it. Russia's goal is the construction of its gas transportation system, while destroying the Ukrainian GTS, as well as to get an absolutely lever of pressure on European countries," the prime minister said at a conference on the transit of Russian gas to the EU, held in Brussels on May 25, as reported by RFE/RL's Ukrainian bureau.
On the eve, Groysman held consultations with President of the European Council Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker regarding the Ukrainian reforms, the EU's macro-financial assistance for 2018-2019, the EU's sanctions policy toward Russia, the Minsk accords, and issues related to the construction of Gazprom's Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
On Friday morning, the prime minister discussed the main issues of Ukrainian-European relations with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini. In particular, they talked about the need to maintain the EU sanctions against Russia, which "remain one of the mechanisms to deter Russian aggression."
The officials also discussed the prospects of deploying the UN peacekeeping mission and agreed to coordinate the positions of the EU and Ukraine.
