Ukraine currently runs the Extended Fund Facility program with the IMF.
The government of Ukraine sees no scenario of giving up cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and will do its utmost to continue cooperating.
"We cannot accept an option that we will not be in the program with the International Monetary Fund," First Deputy Minister of Finance Oksana Markarova has said during debates at the Kyiv School of Economics when asked about an alternative way should there be no disbursements from the IMF.
According to her, Ukraine is not in position to quit the program with the Fund, and such a step would be irresponsible.

Markarova stressed that the government would do everything possible to continue cooperation with the IMF and convince the parliament of that.
However, she noted, running the program with the IMF is not financial assistance to the budget, but first of all, a positive signal for investors and partners of Ukraine.
In 2018, Ukraine hopes for US$1.9 billion in an IMF disbursement in 2018 and borrowings on foreign markets. It also expects to receive EUR 1 billion in macro-financial assistance from the European Union.
