Ukraine's Central Bank has informed Ukrainian banks that the 100-ruble banknote issued by Russia for the 2018 World Cup shall not be accepted for placing to a bank account or for currency exchange.
What is more, a Russian-minted three-ruble coin, which is also related to Crimea, was banned, the news outlet UBR reported with reference to a telegram sent out by the National Bank of Ukraine to Ukraine's banks.

The polymer 100-ruble banknote of, issued a week ago and dedicated to the FIFA World Cup, was outlawed in Ukraine because it depicts Russia's map with occupied Crimea in the form of a ball on its reverse side. The coin, which was put into circulation on March 15, 2018, was banned because it is dedicated to the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Simferopol, also located on the territory of the Crimean peninsula, UBR said.
Earlier, in October 2017, the NBU published a full list of banned Russian banknotes and coins with their photos featuring places of interest in the Russian occupied territory of Crimea.
