Ukraine ranks 130th in Global Competitiveness Index 2017-2018 ranking by road quality

Only Paraguay, Yemen, Guinea, Madagascar, Haiti, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Mauritania have worse roads than Ukraine.

Ukraine ranked 130th out of the 137 countries in the Global Competitiveness Index 2017-2018 ranking by quality of roads.

Ukraine was overtaken by Mozambique that ranked 129th, while Paraguay, Yemen, Guinea, Madagascar, Haiti, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Mauritania were behind Ukraine, the Hromadske media outlet reported with reference to the ranking.

The United Arab Emirates, Singapore, and Switzerland became the leaders by quality of roads. The top five also included Hong Kong and the Netherlands.

The United States was 10th, whereas Japan, France, Portugal and Austria ranked sixth to ninth, respectively.

It is noted that Ukraine is 87th in the general ranking of transport infrastructure development, following Montenegro. Singapore tops the ranking, while Mauritania is in the last place.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers on May 30 approved the National Transport Strategy of Ukraine until 2030, titled "Drive Ukraine 2030." The goals of the strategy are the integration of Ukraine into the global economy and a technological leap in infrastructure.
