Sales of new cars in Ukraine grow by 4% in May

Sales of new passenger cars in Ukraine grew by 4% in May 2018 year-over-year (y-o-y), to 6,800 vehicles.

Toyota was the most popular brand in Ukraine with 850 new cars sold and registered in May 2018. However, demand for new cars of this brand fell by 4% y-o-y, according to the Ukrautoprom Association's press service.

Renault ranked second with 751 new cars sold over the period under review, which was 6% up y-o-y.

The Hyundai brand was third: 504 Hyundai cars were sold in May 2018, which was 52% up y-o-y.

The Volkswagen brand ranked fourth with 411 cars registered, which was 3% up against the figure posted in May 2017.

The Skoda brand ranked fifth in terms of new cars registration in May 2018, its sales fell by 30%, to 384 cars.

The Audi A3 model became the month's bestseller with 264 cars sold.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the country's sales of new passenger cars in 2017 grew by 25% from 2016, to 82,300 units.
