Nationwide farmland assessment data to be available on Ukraine's single geoportal

Activating a separate function is also being considered for the normative and monetary assessment of project areas.

The State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre says information on a nationwide (all-Ukrainian) normative monetary assessment of farmland across the country will be launched on a single geoportal.

"The members of the working group have considered the issues of creating a geoportal containing information on the nationwide normative monetary assessment of agricultural land, including its content and a set of functions and services that can be offered to users," the agency's press service said following a meeting of the relevant ad hoc group.

As reported, the geoportal will contain all data sufficient for a regulatory and monetary evaluation of a particular land plot, as well as generalized assessment data in terms of regions, natural and agricultural areas, and farmlands.

Activating a separate function is also being considered for the normative and monetary assessment of project areas. This will allow future owners and users of land to see the approximate costs they will face related to land tax or rent.

As UNIAN reported earlier, under the law on the state budget for 2018, a nationwide (all-Ukrainian) normative monetary assessment of agricultural land will be carried out in Ukraine in 2018, at the expense of the state budget.

In February 2018, the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre reported its intention to launch in Ukraine in 2018 a single geodatabase system with the financial and technical assistance of the Japanese government and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
