Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman admits deviation from the target for revenues from privatization of state-owned enterprises in 2018.

"Our target is at about 20 billion for this year, but we'll see how it goes: this law [on privatization] has just come into force on March 1. It is fairly transparent and effective, removing all corruption-related stuff in the area. We'll now see how it works, to see high quality," the head of government said this at a meeting with journalists in the town of Tulchyn.

According to the prime minister, privatization will attract investment, improve production technology, and increase the number of jobs at Ukrainian enterprises set for sale.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the 2018 Budget set a target of UAH 21.3 billion in revenues from privatization. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in late May published an order approving the list of large companies subject to sale in 2018.

According to the document, the list included 23 enterprises, although earlier the reports claimed there were 26 companies on that list.
