Central bank reports on deposits in Ukrainian banks

The volume of national currency deposits in Ukrainian banks in May 2018 grew by 1.1%, to UAH 507.138 billion, while foreign currency deposits (in dollar equivalent) fell by 0.001%, to $13.652 billion.

Since the beginning of the year, the volume of national currency deposits has increased by 3.4%, while foreign currency deposits have also grown by 0.6%, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) website.

The balances of hryvnia loans in May crawled up 1%, whereas they have increased by 4.2% since the beginning of the year, to UAH 593.235 billion, the regulator said.

The balances of currency loans in dollar equivalent shrank by 0.04% in May; however, they have increased by 6.3% since the beginning of the year, to $16.888 billion.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the volume of national currency deposits in Ukrainian banks in 2017 rose by 15.1%, to UAH 489.948 billion, while foreign currency deposits grew by 2.7%, to $13.676 billion.
