Ukraine exports almost 38 mln tonnes of grain as of June 13

Ukrainian agribusinesses exported 38.1 million tonnes of grain from July 1, 2017, when the 2017-2018 marketing year (MY) began, to June 13, 2018.

In particular, Ukraine exported 16.6 million tonnes of wheat, 4.2 million tonnes of barley, 36,800 tonnes of rye, and 17.1 million tonnes of maize, according to the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry's press service.

Over the period under review, the agrarians also shipped abroad some 412,000 tonnes of flour, including 410,400 tonnes of wheat flour and 1,600 tonnes of other types of flour.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian agribusinesses in 2016-2017 MY exported 43.8 million tonnes of grain, which was a record high over Ukraine's independence. At the same time, revenue from grain exports increased by 6%, to US$6.4 billion.

The previous record of grain exports in Ukraine was registered in the 2015-2016 MY at the level of 39.4 million tonnes.
