Unemployment rate in Ukraine shrinks by 3.3% in May

The number of unemployed in Ukraine in May decreased by 3.3%, or by 10,800 people, in May 2018, to 316,000 people.

The unemployed registered with the State Employment Service accounted for 1.2% of the working age population, the Ukrainian State Statistics Service said.

The number of vacancies in May was 86,200. There were four applicants per job opening in the period under review. The average sum of the unemployment compensation was UAH 2,426, or US$92.5, per capita.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the number of the unemployed in Ukraine decreased by 10.9%, or by 40,100 people, in April 2018, to 326,800 people.
