Retail trade in Ukraine up 6.1% in Jan-May

Retail turnover increased most in Luhansk, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Sumy, and Donetsk regions.

Retail trade in Ukraine grew by 6.1% in January-May 2018 year-over-year (y-o-y).

However, the Ukrainian State Statistics Service has not provided statistics in absolute values yet.

Retail turnover increased most in Luhansk, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Sumy, and Donetsk regions, by 24.6%, 10.2%, 10.8%, 9.8%, and 9.7%, respectively.

Retail trade in May 2018 alone rose by 2.7% against April 2018, while it grew by 5.2% from May 2017.

As UNIAN reported earlier, retail trade in Ukraine increased by 8.8% in comparable prices in 2017 from 2016, to UAH 816.553 billion ($30.8 billion).
