Ukraine anti-trust watchdog fines gasoline stations operators for price collusion

The market analysis denies the existence of objective reasons for actions that led to restrict competition.

The Anti-Monopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) has fined operators of gasoline stations for UAH 40.99 million (US$1.6 million) for an agreed increase in prices for liquefied gas in August 2017.

"[They were fined] for violation of the law through anticompetitive concerted actions, which consisted in a similar increase in prices for liquefied hydrocarbon gas when it was sold at retail in August 2017. At the same time, the analysis of the market denies the existence of objective reasons for such actions, which led to restrict competition," the committee's press service said in a statement.

Among other companies, the AMCU fined GAZ Postachannia LLC (UAH 8.07 million), NaftoTrade Resources LLC (UAH 5.44 million), Import Trans Service LLC (UAH 5.17 million), Factoring Group LLC (UAH 4.55 million), WOG Retail LLC (UAH 4.18 million), Avantage 7 LLC (UAH 3.27 million), OKKO-Business Contract PE (UAH 3.2 million), OKKO-Retail LLC (UAH 2.88 million), Nadezhda Retail LLC (UAH 2.71 million) and Montazh&Naladka LLC (UAH 1.07 million).
