Ukraine's solvent banks see US$488 mln in profit in Jan-May – regulator

Ukrainian solvent banks in January-May 2018 received UAH 12.812 billion (US$488 million) in profit, which was twice the figure at UAH 6.851 billion ($261 million) year-over-year (y-o-y).

Revenues of solvent banks over the period under review grew by 5.9% y-o-y, to UAH 78.275 billion ($3 billion), while expenses dropped by 2.4%, to UAH 65.463 billion ($2.5 billion), according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's banking system posted a total of UAH 24.4 billion ($929.9 million) in losses in 2017 due to the significant amount of allocations for the country's reserves.
