Ukraine is to accumulate 17 bcm of gas by winter – Energy Ministry

Deputy Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Anatoliy Korzun has said natural gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storage facilities (USFs) is to reach 17 billion cubic meters (bcm) by mid-October, by the beginning of the 2018-2019 heating season.

"A plan of measures for the sustainable passage of the 2018-2019 autumn-winter period has been developed and relevant graphs have been drafted for the accumulation of coal in the volume of 2.6 million tonnes, including 1 million tonnes of an anthracite group and 1.6 million of a gas group, 130,000 tonnes of fuel oil, as well a schedule for pumping 17 bcm of gas into USFs," Korzun said during a conference call in the Cabinet of Ministers.

As UNIAN reported, Ukraine started 2018 with 14.7 bcm gas in its USFs, which was the largest gas stock as of the beginning of the year in the past five years.
