The exchange rate of the Ukrainian national currency the hryvnia suffered a decline on the interbank market on Tuesday, losing 5 kopiykas against the dollar, according to the official Web site of the National Bank of Ukraine.
As of 1400 the central bank set the following official exchange rates of the hryvnia against leading foreign currencies:
$100 – UAH 1,510.6043 (as of 1400 on December 1 it was UAH 1,505.6413);
EUR 100 – UAH 1,883.5725 (as of 1400 on December 1 it was UAH 1,879.4920);
10 Russian rubles – UAH 2.9158 (as of 1400 on December 1 it was UAH 3.0527).
As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine on Tuesday sold $3 million at an average rate of UAH 15.1070 to the dollar on the interbank currency market in continued efforts to prop up the exchange rate.
The total volume of the bids from interbank market participants amounted to $17.8 million, and the minimum rate was UAH 15.1000 to the dollar.
