Ukrainian gas reserves grow by over 50% since April 9

The Ukrainian underground storage facilities are filled by 36.15% as of Monday, July 2.

Natural gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storage facilities (USFs) have increased by 50.48%, or by 3.753 billion cubic meters (bcm) since the gas injection season started on April 9, to 11.188 bcm.

Some 1.571 bcm of gas was injected into the USFs in June 2018, according to the state-run gas transport system operator Ukrtransgaz.

Natural gas reserves in Ukraine's USFs as of June 30, 2018, were estimated at 11.187 bcm, which was 3.05%, or 351.97 million cubic meters (mcm), down from 11.54 bcm reported as of June 30, 2017.

Ukrainian gas imports in June 2018 totaled 1.067 bcm, including 593.626 mcm via Slovakia, 432.467 mcm via Hungary, and 40.876 mcm via Poland. Domestic gas output in June stood at 1.698 bcm, while gas transit shipments totaled 7.6 bcm, it said.

The country's USFs are filled by 36.15% as of Monday, July 2.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine started 2018 with 14.7 bcm gas in its USFs, which was the largest gas stock as of the beginning of the year in the past five years.
