In 2017, Ukraine transported a record high volume of natural gas over the past few years.
Transit shipments of natural gas through the Ukrainian gas transmission system (GTS) in January-June 2018 (H1) declined by 7% year-over-year (y-o-y), to 42.488 billion cubic meters (bcm).

In particular, gas transit from Russia via Ukraine in June 2018 alone stood at 7.6 bcm, which was 152 million cubic meters, or 2.04%, up y-o-y, the state-run gas transport system operator Ukrtransgaz said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine transported 93 bcm of gas to the European countries in 2017, which was a record high over the past years.
Transit shipments of natural gas through the Ukrainian GTS in 2016 grew by 23% from 2015, to 82.2 bcm.
