"In order to protect the national commodity producers from growing imports, special measures in the form of import quotas have been applied to imports of sulfuric and oleum acids into Ukraine, irrespective of the country of origin and export, for a three-year period," the Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry's press service said on July 2.

The commission reviewed materials following an investigation into the relevant imports and an anti-dumping probe into the importation of some carbamide-formaldehyde products to Ukraine from Russia, establishing that there is a need for protective measures.

"To protect the national commodity producers of carbamide-formaldehyde resin from unfair imports, the commission decided to apply the final anti-dumping measures against imports of the produce originated from Russia into Ukraine at a rate of 39.94% for a five-year period," the report said.

The commission also initiated an anti-dumping investigation into the imports to Ukraine of rods made of carbon and alloyed steels originating from Belarus and Moldova, as well as cement originating from Russia, Belarus and Moldova.

"Based on the results of the studies, a decision will be made whether it is expedient or not to apply the appropriate anti-dumping measures," it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in August 2017, Ukraine launched a special anti-dumping investigation into the imports of sulfuric acid and oleum in 2014-2016.
