The deficit of foreign trade in goods increased by 29.9%.
The balance of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in January-May 2018 was reduced to a deficit of $2.912 billion, which is 23.3% higher than the deficit over the same period in 2017.
That's including the deficit of foreign trade in goods which increased by 29.9%, to $3.351 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine reports.
The surplus of foreign trade in services over the period under review doubled to $439 million.
UNIAN memo. According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, Ukraine's foreign trade balance in 2017 saw a deficit of $2.625 billion, compared to the previous year's surplus of $541.6 million.
The National Bank of Ukraine announced in its report that the balance of foreign trade in goods and services in 2017 was reduced to a deficit of $6.848 billion, which is 25.2% more than the deficit in 2016.
