Ukraine’s foreign exchange reserves as of December 1 had dropped to $9.966 billion, down by 20.82% or $2.621 billion compared to November 1, when they stood at $12,587 billion, according to information posted by the country’s central bank, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
"The dynamics of reserves in November were determined largely by the need to transfer part of the funds of Naftogaz of Ukraine reserved in the National Bank of Ukraine to Gazprom to repay the debt for natural gas imported in November-December 2014 ($1.45 billion)," an NBU statement reads.
