Ukraine's Finance Ministry borrows over UAH 1.3 bln, US$59.4 mln on domestic market

Ukraine's Finance Ministry has borrowed UAH 1.342 billion (US$51.2 million) and US$59.4 million for the national budget at the latest weekly auction to place government domestic loan bonds.

Hryvnia funds were raised through the placement of securities with 84-, 203-, 588-, and 700-day maturity periods and a weighted average yield of 17.39%, 17.29%, 16.25%, and 16.25% per annum, respectively, according to the ministry's website.

Foreign currency funds were raised through the placement of securities in U.S. dollars with 742-day maturity period and a weighted average yield of 5.65% per annum.

As reported, the hryvnia equivalent of the raised funds amounted to UAH 2.9 billion at the rate of the National Bank.

UNIAN memo. As of June 10, there were government securities in circulation worth UAH 742.831 billion in principal debt, while the National Bank of Ukraine owns bonds worth UAH 350.325 billion, or 47% of their total volume.
