A third of businesses expect Ukraine investment climate to improve - EBA

At the same time, almost half of respondents suggest that the investment climate will remain at today's level.

One third, or 34%, of entrepreneurs in Ukraine, polled by the European Business Association, expect an improvement in the investment climate in Ukraine in the next 6 months.

The "Investment Attractiveness Index" study says that over the first half of 2018, the Index stood at 3.10 of maximum 5.

At the same time, the EBA noted that almost half, or 48%, of entrepreneurs expect that the investment climate in the country will remain at today's level.

According to the research, 28.1% of businessmen consider the current climate attractive for investment. To improve the situation, businesses consider it expedient to launch the Anti-Corruption Court, reform the judicial system and restore its credibility, open the land market, reduce tax pressure on the payroll fund, de-shadow the economy, communicate more positive changes and cases, reduce the state apparatus, develop and implement innovations, and introduce the second level of mandatory funded pension insurance.

It is also reported that 30.5% of CEOs noted improvement in the business climate over the past six months.

UNIAN memo. The Investment Attractiveness Index consists of three components: an assessment by investors of the previous period, forecasts for the future, and assessment as of now.

The index has been updated every six months since 2008.

Index 3 is considered neutral, while anything above indicates positive shifts.
