Ukrainian farmers thresh over 11 mln tonnes of grain as of July 11

Ukrainian agrarians threshed 11.11 million tonnes of grain from 3.65 million hectares as of July 11.

The average yield of cereals is estimated at 3.04 tonnes per hectare, according to the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry's press service.

In particular, 7.7 million tonnes of winter wheat was harvested from an area of 2.46 million hectares (39% of the target), 14,800 tonnes of spring wheat from 5,500 hectares (3%), 2.68 million tonnes of winter barley from 774,300 hectares (94%), 379,100 tonnes of spring barley from 201,400 hectares (13%), and 300,400 tonnes of peas from 207,800 hectares (49%).

In addition, the agrarians harvested 6,500 tonnes of rye from 2,900 hectares, which accounted for 2% of the projected figure with a yield of 2.28 tonnes per hectare, and 1,500 tonnes of oats from 1,100 hectares (1% of the target) with a yield of 1.32 tonnes per hectare.

Ukrainian farmers continue to harvest rapeseed crops in 23 regions, having collected 1.55 million tonnes of this product from an area of 633,400 hectares with a yield of 2.46 tonnes per hectare (65% of the target).

As UNIAN reported earlier, the ministry, despite drought, retained its forecast for grain yield in the 2018-2019 marketing year at 60 million tonnes.

Ukraine harvested 61.3 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops in 2017, which was 7.3% down from 2016, according to the State Statistics Service.
