The Economic Development and Trade Ministry, in turn, forecasts a 3.2% rise in GDP this year.
Acting Finance Minister of Ukraine Oksana Markarova says the ministry expects that Ukraine's GDP will grow by 3.5% in 2018, while the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade projects a 3.2% GDP growth.
"You know that our economy has been growing for the second consecutive year. Last year it [GDP growth] was 2.5%, this year we expect 3.5%," she said at a press conference on Thursday, July 12.

According to the official, this is not enough for the country's development, as the most effective tool is foreign direct investment. She expressed hope that the situation would radically change in 2018, including due to a new campaign to sell state assets.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's Cabinet on July 11 approved the Economic Development and Trade Ministry's forecast for GDP growth in 2018 at 3.2%.
