The introduction of quotas for the import of sulfuric acid by the interdepartmental commission under the Economic Development and Trade Ministry may have disastrous consequences, according to the official.

"We see the risks of a shutdown of coking and metallurgical enterprises that cannot buy sulfuric acid in Ukraine and are forced to import it," she added.

Earlier, heads of relevant enterprises, as well as industry associations, repeatedly warned about the unjustified import quota for sulfuric acid and the damage to the national economy from the lobbying measures.
