Oil, gas condensate output in Ukraine grows by 0.1% in H1

Over the period under review, production of coal in Ukraine shrank by 0.1% y-o-y, to 16.5 million tonnes.

Oil and gas condensate in Ukraine in January-June 2018 (H1) grew by 0.1% year-over-year (y-o-y), to 1.098 million tonnes.

National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine and its subsidiaries reduced hydrocarbons output by 1.8% in H1 2018, to 961,400 tonnes, according to the Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Ministry's press service.

At the same time, Ukrainian private oil producers boosted their output by 15.7%, to 137,000 tonnes.

Over the period under review, production of thermal and coking coal in Ukraine shrank by 0.1% y-o-y, to 16.5 million tonnes, the ministry said.

Output of thermal coal alone grew by 2.3% in H1 2018 y-o-y, to 13.29 million tonnes.

State-owned mines produced 2.16 million tonnes of coal in the first six months, which was 8.8% down y-o-y.

As UNIAN reported earlier, output of crude oil in Ukraine fell by 4.2% in 2017 against 2016, to 2.098 million tonnes.

At the same time, production of thermal and coking coal in Ukraine in 2017 shrank by 14.6% against 2016, to 34.916 million tonnes.

Hostilities in the eastern regions of Ukraine have caused a significant shortage of coal, primarily that of thermal anthracite produced in Russian-occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
