Ukraine doubles grain exports to China

Maize exports accounted for 90% of total grain shipments to a Chinese-based company.

The State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine (SFGCU) in the 2017-2018 marketing year (MY, July 2017-June 2018) doubled grain exports to China National Complete Engineering Corporation (CCEC) from the 2016-2017 MY, to over 1 million tonnes.

"According to the year's results, PJSC SFGCU shipped over 1 million tonnes of grain crops to its main partner [CCEC], which exceeds the same indicator of the last year's supplies exactly twice," the SFGCU's press service said in a statement.

In particular, maize exports accounted for 90% of total grain exports to the Chinese company.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the SFGCU in the 2016-2017 MY shipped 702,000 tonnes of grain to China National Complete Engineering Corporation, which was 11% up from the 2015-2016 MY.

The SFGCU has 55 branches, with a total working capacity of 3.75 million tonnes of crops. In particular, the total capacity of handling exports via the Odesa and Mykolaiv seaports is about 2.5 million tonnes of grain cargo per year.
