Ukrainian gas reserves up by over 65% since April 9

Natural gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storage facilities (USFs) have increased by 65.45%, or by 4.866 billion cubic meters (bcm) since the gas injection season started on April 9, to 12.302 bcm.

Some 1.11 bcm of gas was injected into the USFs on July 1-21, 2018, according to the state-run gas transport system operator Ukrtransgaz.

Natural gas reserves in Ukraine's USFs as of July 21, 2018, were estimated at 12.301 bcm, which was 2.5%, or 315.5 million cubic meters (mcm), down from 12.617 bcm reported as of July 21, 2017.

Ukrainian gas imports on July 1-21, 2018 totaled 778.57 bcm, including 398.6 mcm via Slovakia, 323.7 mcm via Hungary, and 56.34 mcm via Poland. Domestic gas output in July stood at 1.196 bcm, while gas transit shipments totaled 5.54 bcm, it said.

The country's USFs are filled by 39.75% as of Saturday, July 21.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine started 2018 with 14.7 bcm gas in its USFs, which was the largest gas stock as of the beginning of the year in the past five years.
