Yulia Holovatiuk-Ungureanu was appointed the Fund's acting director.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has registered the Energy Efficiency Fund as a legal entity that will help finance projects to reduce energy consumption in various sectors of the country's economy.
Yulia Holovatiuk-Ungureanu was appointed acting director of the Fund, the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry for Regional Development, Construction, and Housing said.
It is noted that the acting director is tasked with increasing charter capital, conducting negotiations with international partners and donors, introducing internal paperflow and concluding contracts with independent members of the Fund's supervisory board.
"But the main task of the acting director is to launch as soon as possible practical implementation of the Fund's programs, which will provide citizens with financial and technical support for their energy-efficient efforts," Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, and Housing Hennady Zubko said.
He added that an announcement about the competition for the posts of the Fund's supervisory board members would be published somewhere around September.

As reported, Holovatiuk-Ungureanu before her appointment worked as the head of the sector for reform of housing management and energy efficiency at the Office of Reform Support and Implementation under the regional development ministry. In particular, she was responsible for the implementation of the energy efficiency reform and drafting relevant bills and by-laws.
As UNIAN reported earlier, in early June 2017, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed a draft law on the Energy Efficiency Fund, envisaging the creation of an organizational structure to effectively use financial resources for thermal and energy modernization of Ukrainian households.
The draft budget for 2018 stipulates that the total amount of investments in energy efficiency programs will amount to UAH 1.6 billion, of which UAH 400 million will be allocated for the so-called "warm" loans program provided for improving energy efficiency of households, while the rest UAH 1.2 billion will be channeled to the Energy Efficiency Fund. The German government and the European Commission will provide part of the funds (EUR 100 million).
In late March, the Cabinet approved the provision on the Energy Efficiency Fund Supervisory Board. The procedure for its formation was set in May this year.
