Ukraine posts US$307 mln in surplus of balance of payments in H1

The surplus of the balance of payments was $23 million in June 2018 alone.

Ukraine's balance of payments was in surplus in January-June 2018 (H1), totaling US$307 million, which was 70.6% down from the surplus recorded at $1.049 billion in the same period last year.

In June 2018 alone, the surplus of the balance of payments was $23 million, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

The negative balance of the current account in June 2018 was estimated at $125 million and in January-June 2018 at $613 million.

The inflow of the financial account in June 2018 totaled $148 million. It has grown to $922 million since the beginning of the year.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the surplus of Ukraine's balance of payments in 2017 stood at $2.566 billion, which was twice the surplus posted in 2016. The balance showed a surplus for the third year in a row.
