Budget revenue in Ukraine grows by 18% in Jan-July

In July, the budget's general fund received $2 billion, which was $420.5 million up from July 2017.

Ukraine's national budget revenue in January-July 2018 grew by 18% year-over-year (y-o-y), to UAH 415 billion, or US$15.4 billion.

"Some UAH 470.3 billion [$17.5 billion] in payments was channeled into the national budget's general fund over the period under review, which was UAH 58 billion [$2.2 billion] more than for the corresponding period last year. Since the beginning of the year, UAH 291.1 billion [$10.8 billion] in tax payments has been transferred to the budget's general fund, which was UAH 41.7 billion [$1.6 billion] up y-o-y," the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (SFS) said in a statement on August 2.

The SFS added that revenue from customs payments in the first seven months of 2018 rose by UAH 16.3 billion ($606.6 million) y-o-y, to UAH 179.2 billion ($6.7 billion).

"In July, the national budget's general fund received UAH 54.9 billion [$2 billion], which was UAH 11.3 billion [$420.5 million] up from July 2017. In particular, the budget saw UAH 25.8 billion [$960 million] in tax payments and UAH 29.1 billion [$1 billion] in customs payments," the report said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, UAH 3 billion, or $111 million, in additional income was transferred to the national budget in July 2018 from the implementation of measures to combat smuggling at Ukraine's customs.

UNIAN memo. The national budget of Ukraine for 2018 sets a goal of UAH 917.9 billion ($34.2 billion) in revenue and UAH 991.7 billion ($36.9 billion) in expenditures. The budget deficit is capped at UAH 80.6 billion ($3 billion), or 2.4% of GDP.
