Ukrainian Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko says the ministry this year recovered from debtor enterprises UAH 250 million (US$9.3 million) in arrears related to wage payments.

"Elimination of debts on payment of wages to Ukrainian workers is one of our priorities," he wrote on Facebook.

Petrenko also added that the Justice ministry's campaign on recovery of wage arrears was launched on April 2.

"We have established regional headquarters and mobile executive groups, published anti-ratings of debtor enterprises in all regions, developed a technological map for state executors to work with debtors who are in bankruptcy proceedings," the minister said.

"As a result, Ukrainian workers in 2018 received UAH 250 million in wages, which were not paid for years," the official stressed.

As UNIAN reported earlier, wage arrears across Ukraine as of January 1, 2018 grew by 32.4% from January 1, 2017, to UAH 2.37 billion ($87.7 million), according to the State Statistics Service.
