Ukrainian gas reserves grow by over 65% since April 9

The Ukrainian underground storage facilities are filled by 42.16% as of Saturday, August 4.

Natural gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storage facilities (USFs) have increased by 75.5%, or by 5.614 billion cubic meters (bcm) since the gas injection season started on April 9, to 13.049 bcm.

Some 206.11 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas was injected into the USFs on August 1-4, 2018, according to the state-run gas transport system operator Ukrtransgaz.

Natural gas reserves in Ukraine's USFs as of August 4, 2018, were estimated at 13.049 bcm, which was 2.4%, or 320.1 mcm down from 13.369 bcm reported as of August 4, 2017.

Ukrainian gas imports on August 1-4, 2018 totaled 157.8 bcm, including 82.85 mcm via Slovakia, 62.2 mcm via Hungary, and 12.8 mcm via Poland. Domestic gas output over the period under review stood at 228 mcm, while gas transit shipments totaled 1.086 bcm, it said.

The country's USFs are filled by 42.16% as of Saturday, August 4.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine started 2018 with 14.7 bcm gas in its USFs, which was the largest gas stock as of the beginning of the year in the past five years.
