In general, welders, fitters, and toolmakers are to connect over 1,700 parts, including over 400 armored ones.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says Ukraine's major manufacturer of armored vehicles, Malyshev Plant, Kharkiv, which is part of state-run Ukroboronprom Concern, has already started assembling the first experimental BTR-4 hull.
"Now we are assembling and welding the lower part of the hull. In general, welders, fitters, and toolmakers of the plant are to connect over 1,700 parts, including over 400 armored ones," the president wrote on Facebook.

According to Poroshenko, in case of successful tests, the plant will receive a production permit and be able to start mass production of hulls for armored personnel carriers.
