Central bank estimates volume of deposits in Ukrainian banks

The volume of national currency deposits in Ukrainian banks in July grew by 1.5%, to UAH 515.449 billion, while foreign currency deposits (in dollar equivalent) fell by 0.1%, to US$13.674 billion.

Since the beginning of the year, the volume of national currency deposits has increased by 5.1%, while foreign currency deposits have shrunk by 0.4%, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) website.

The balance of hryvnia loans in July crawled up 1.5%, whereas it increased by 4.1% from year-start, to UAH 592.722 billion, the regulator said.

The balance of currency loans in dollar equivalent grew by 0.2% in July, at the same time increased by 5.7% from January, to $16.799 billion.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the volume of national currency deposits in Ukrainian banks in 2017 rose by 15.1%, to UAH 489.948 billion, while foreign currency deposits grew by 2.7%, to $13.676 billion.
