Ukraine boosts petroleum products imports by over 31%, to almost US$2.8 bln in Jan-July

Ukraine boosted petroleum products imports in January-July 2018 by 31.5% year-over-year (y-o-y), to US$2.753 billion.

In particular, the country imported petroleum products worth $1.01 billion from Russia (36.71% of the cost of petroleum products imports), $1.11 billion from Belarus (40.37%), $262.7 million from Lithuania (9.54%), and $368.285 million from the other countries, the State Fiscal Service reported.

Over the period under review, Ukraine imported a total of 4.165 million tonnes of petroleum products.

Noteworthy, the country in the seven months exported 253,400 tonnes of petroleum products worth $139.4 million.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine in 2017 increased foreign exchange costs for imports of petroleum products by 27.3%, to $4.2 billion.

In 2017, petroleum products imports from Belarus in monetary terms totaled $1.828 billion (43.9%), from Russia – $1.272 billion (30.6%), and from Lithuania – $469.4 billion (11.3%).
