Ukrainian gas reserves grow by almost 81% since April 9

The Ukrainian underground storage facilities were 43.4% full as of August 11.

Natural gas reserves in Ukraine's underground storage facilities (USFs) have increased by 80.66%, or by 5.997 billion cubic meters (bcm), to 13.432 bcm since on April 9, when Ukraine started building up its gas stocks.

Some 593.18 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas was injected into the USFs on August 1-11, 2018, according to the state-run gas transport system operator Ukrtransgaz.

Natural gas reserves in Ukraine's USFs as of August 11, 2018, were estimated at 13.432 bcm, which was 2.25%, or 309.7 mcm down from 13.742 bcm reported as of August 11, 2017.

Ukrainian gas imports on August 1-11, 2018, totaled 438.1 mcm, including 237.9 mcm via Slovakia, 176.4 mcm via Hungary, and 23.8 mcm via Poland. Domestic gas output over the period under review stood at 627 mcm, while gas transit shipments totaled 2.719 bcm, it said.

The country's USFs were filled by 43.4% as of Saturday, August 11.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine entered 2018 with 14.7 bcm of gas in its USFs, which was the largest gas stock as of the beginning of the year in the past five years.
