Ukrainians' total nominal incomes estimated at US$24 bln in Q1

An income per capita in Q1 2018 was about $414, which was 32.1% up year-over-year.

Total nominal incomes of Ukrainians in the first quarter of 2018 (Q1) were estimated at UAH 657.9 billion (US$24 billion), which was 23.6% up year-over-year (y-o-y).

The incomes, which can be used by the population for the purchase of goods and services, grew by 25%, while the real incomes calculated on the basis of the price factor rose by 10%, the Social Policy Ministry's press service said, referring to the State Statistics Service.

Over the period under review, an income per capita amounted to UAH 11,370.2 ($414), which was 32.1% up y-o-y, it said.

The ratio between the highest and lowest wages in terms of economic activity was 6.6 in June 2018: an aviation transport worker was paid UAH 34,334/$1,250, or 375.6% to the average economy level, while the salary of an employee engaged in postal or courier services was UAH 5,180/$189 (56.7%).

Geographically, the lowest wage in May 2018 was reported in Chernihiv region at UAH 7,341/$267 (80.3% to the average economy level), while the highest one was posted in Donetsk region at UAH 9,774/$356 (106.9%). Noteworthy, it was UAH 13,553/$494 (148.3%) in the city of Kyiv.

The real wage index in June 2018 from May 2018 was 104.8%, against 113% in June 2017, the ministry said.

The average pension with personalized social benefits as of July 1, 2018, amounted to UAH 2,662.4 ($97), which was 3.3% up from January 1, 2018, and 35.8% up y-o-y, according to the Pension Fund.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's economy growth in Q2 2018 accelerated to 3.6% y-o-y against 3.1% in Q1 2018 y-o-y.
