Ukrainians' economic sentiment index down 3.8 points in July – study

Expectations in Ukraine with regard to the hryvnia rate in the next three months has somewhat worsened.

Economic sentiment index in Ukraine in July 2018 dropped by 3.8 points from June 2018, to 61.8 points.

The index returned to the level of April 2018 due to a deterioration in the assessment of the current situation and expectations of future personal income, according to a monthly survey by GfK Ukraine.

In particular, the current situation index decreased by 4.7 points, to 60.7 points, while the index of economic expectations fell by 3.2 points, to 62.6 points.

At the same time, Ukrainians' expectations on unemployment improved, while the relevant index dropped by 5.7 point, to 127.8 points.

Ukrainians' expectations with regard to the hryvnia rate in the next three months somewhat worsened: the devaluation expectations index rose by 3.4 points to 154.2 points.

As UNIAN reported earlier, inflation in Ukraine in July 2018 was estimated at 8.9% year-over-year, slowing down from 9.9% in June 2018.
