Growth of industrial production in Ukraine in July accelerates to 2.9%

Industrial output in July 2018 from June 2017 grew by 1.4% without the calendar effect.

The growth of industrial production in Ukraine in July 2018 year-over-year without the calendar effect accelerated to 2.9% from 2.2% in June 2018 year-over-year.

However, if calculated with calendar adjustment, the growth of industrial production in July 2018 year-over-year slowed to 2.3% from 2.5%, the State Statistics Service has said.

Industrial output in July 2018 from June 2018 grew by 1.4% without the calendar effect but declined by 1.3% with calendar adjustment.

The highest industrial output growth in July 2018 was recorded in furniture production (24.2%), manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (14.3%), and chemical industry (9.5%). The steepest decline in annual terms was reported in the production of computers, electronic and optical commodities (19.8%), electrical equipment (17.9%), and pharmaceuticals (2.1%).

The report does not include data from the occupied areas, namely the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, partly Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

As UNIAN reported, the growth of industrial production in Ukraine in June 2018 from June 2017 without the calendar effect slowed to 2.2% from 2.5% in May 2018 from May 2017. In 2017, Ukraine recorded a 0.1% decline in industrial production after 2.8% growth in 2016.
